What we do

Kansas City Drain Company works on water around houses: French drains, regrading, buried downspout lines, catch basins and dry wells, and the basement side of the same problem, from interior drain tile to exterior waterproofing. The work covers Johnson County in Kansas and Kansas City and eastern Jackson County in Missouri.

Why it matters here

Much of the metro sits on clay-rich soil that takes water in slowly and holds it. Heavy spring storms deliver more rain than that ground can absorb, so it runs across the surface and moves sideways underground, and houses with basements are in its way. Drainage here is about giving that water a better route.

How we recommend a fix

We trace the water before we recommend anything: roof, downspouts, grading and low spots, then the basement. If grading or a downspout line solves it, that is the recommendation, even when a bigger job would be easier to sell.

What you get in writing

A plan that shows where the drain runs, where it outlets and what it costs, before any digging starts. Workmanship terms are set out on that plan rather than advertised as a headline number.

Materials

Filter fabric wrapped around washed gravel so clay silt stays out of the drain, perforated pipe where water is collected and solid pipe where it is only carried, and outlets chosen for the lot: daylight, pop-up emitter or dry well.
